High Waisted Jeans

I've always loved and worn high waisted jeans, it's hard finding the perfect jeans that will sit on your waist and won't need a belt. High waisted jeans eliminate the need for a belt and you never worry about your back showing if you bend over, so they look great and are very practical! I usually buy the Kristen ones from Topshop but it seems other high street stores have them too in all different colours, great for summer. They look great with a tucked in top, maybe a shirt and especially with crop tops if you like wearing them.

The floral shirt

The flower shirt

H M polyester shirt, £15, Biker jacket, $116, Denim skinny jeans, £30, Dune flat shoes, £60,
Mango shoulder bag, £50, Stud earrings, $15, Snake ring, €8,95, H M plastic ring, £2.99
Ray-Ban acetate sunglasses, $145

I've just ordered this H&M shirt and I cannot wait to wear it with these clothes! (Roughly the same thing I own)
I'm not really a summer clothes person so this shirt will probably be as far as it goes. You can wear it with so many outfits but this would be my go-to on an average day :)

ps. idk why I called it the flower shirt, aha, it should be floral, oops!

Summer 2012 - Next Competition

This post is for a competition at Glitz & Grime (her twitter) for £500 Next vouchers! If you'd like to also enter then just create a mood board of your favourites from the Next Summer Collection by 24th May and send the link to Glitz & Grime, for more info check out her blog.

I love the maxi dress because it can take you from day to night (great for holidays when you can't pack much). By day I'd wear it with the sunglasses, floppy hat and plait sandals. Then by night you could change the accessories and wear it with the court shoes, clutch and some bangles.

For the day look I love the floppy hat with the cat eye sunglasses, it reminds me of what glamorous women would be wearing at the beach during the sixties. Oh nostalgia! The sandals aren't too fancy so attention isn't taken away from the maxi dress and its delicate embellishment.

For the evening look I absolutely love the court shoes! Recently my love for polka dots has increased and I haven't come across shoes that have incorporated polka dots so well as these Next ones. I love that if the wind blows your dress slightly or you lift it up a little then people will catch a glimpse of the bow, it's little details like that I think makes an outfit go from okay-to-incredible! The dress and shoes are black so I think the two toned clutch is great as it adds a shock of colour to the outfit. The only type of clutch I really like is an envelope shaped one. I love that they don't look awkward when you're holding them making them a statement piece unlike other shapeless clutches. You can never have too much jewellery and these bangles definitely compliment the look!

There were other pieces such as this Scarf Print Sleeveless Shirt that I absolutely want but couldn't fit onto the mood board, it would be too cluttered :( . All in all, I really want the £500 voucher so that I can celebrate the end of my a-levels with a whole new summer wardrobe! Next year I will be ridiculously poor thanks to expensive uni accommodation so at least with the voucher I'll be able to embrace being poor and go to uni in new, awesome clothes courtesy of Next <3

Safari Jacket, I love thee

I really want this safari jacket, its from Zara and it's just so different! I don't think many people would like the leather sleeves and they'd think it's too much, but idk, I love it. If you also want a safari/utility jacket and you're not sure what you'd wear it with, I think I would wear this with a black and white outfit mostly. So black skinnies and a black and white tee? Or even a completely black outfit, but maybe that would be too much because of the black leather sleeves.

Zara Plaited Shopper Review

This is my first review, so it’s probably going to suck, sorry, aha. But this review is needed, the bag isn’t durable and you’ll see why.

The bag as shown on the Zara website:
It costs £79.99 and the outside is made out of buffalo leather.
It comes in four colours, tan, blue, black and cream. I bought it in tan.
When I first bought it I was really happy with it, I like big bags so the oversized look of it was great. It has a strap too, so if you get tired you can use it as a shoulder bag, although I think it’s more aesthetically pleasing when you just carry it using your hands.
The leather looks great, its quite hard so it won’t lose its posture, aha. It also has really nice buckles and generally the bag’s simplicity was what I drawn to at first. It serves it’s name well, as a shopper it can fit lots of things inside but it will be very heavy to carry for a long period of time (I realised this when I took it to college with my books inside).
Inside is a whole different story, though. It’s just a detachable canvas, no real lining which sucks. On the plus side, if something spills or you get the inside of the canvas dirty you can detach the canvas and put it in the wash. But when a bag is that expensive you expect more than just some canvas inside, right?
I live in London so naturally it rained the day I decided to wear it to college -.- but I’m glad it did because even though I was using an umbrella, the rain got on the bag. At first it was alright, just some droplets on it and I thought that nothing would happen because after all it’s supposed to be made of real leather. Shockingly the rain messed up the bag! The colour went lighter in certain areas, it looked horrible, (pictures below) as if someone had scratched it with something. I think this isn’t due to the leather itself but whatever colouring they used.
What is the point of buying an £80 bag when you can’t even wear it in the rain? And who knows what else could damage it. As beautiful as the bag looks unless you are super rich it isn’t worth the money.
I returned the bag and got the £39.99 shopper basket instead, I think that ones more worth the money and hopefully it can survive in the rain!

(The side the rain mostly hit)

The cheap canvas inside.

I really hope this review is helpful guys, I only found one review on the internet about this bag and it doesn’t mention this rain catastrophe so I thought I should let you all know. :)
